About Me

I’m Ally, a local Newcastle artist. I started my art journey as soon as I was able to draw at 6 years old. I am educated in fine arts and from there have applied my skills in professional sign writing and, inspired by my father’s ability with woodworking, later going on to become a professional framer. I have also applied my artistic skills to murals, one such piece can be found painted on our local Newcastle Aikido building on Bennets Street, Hamilton.

Images, shapes and colours have always drawn me in, particularly in the natural world. Nature has been and still is a strong influence on my work, the beautiful and unusual aspects of it are one of my greatest inspirations. I love having an array of vibrant colours run through my art, from plants, to animals and natural scenery.

Over the course of my art career I have used many Mediums, and I have found myself enjoying using watercolours, acrylics, Inks and pencils in my works.

As I continue to grow as an artist and pursue my life-long passion. I hope to better capture even a fraction of what our beautiful world has to offer, for others to enjoy and appreciate.
